7/29 WWE NXT Results: Tag Team Titles on the Line, Kevin Owens in Action

–Chad Gable and Jason Jordan cut backstage promos trashing the entire NXT tag team division. Jordan’s got this great “I’m just barely putting up with you” attitude, and I’m liking their dynamic a lot.

BARON CORBIN vs. JESSE SORENSON

1…2…4… You know the drill. End of Days. It’s over. And yes, it’s THAT Jesse Sorenson.

–Tyler Breeze barges into William Regal’s office and demands to know who his opponent is for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Regal says he went “to the ends of the earth” to find an opponent, but we don’t get to find out who it is just yet. Except that they’ve already announced it on their website and social media. It’s Jushin Thunder Liger.

JASON JORDAN & CHAD GABLE vs. ELIAS SAMSON & VALENZUELA JR.

Lots of chants for Jordan and Gable, who are more over here than you’d expect given they’ve been a team for about two weeks. Big pop for Gable when he tagged in, and went to work on Samson with some great chain wrestling. Old school. Good back and forth between the two for a few minutes. Hot tags are made and Jordan starts suplexing everyone. Tag to Gable, they hit the Grand Amplitude – release back suplex into a bigger back suplex – for the win.
