A flashback is shown to last week, where Aries challenges Rockstar Spud to the ultra-interesting “Name vs. Career” Match between the two coming up later in the show.

Next up, Bully Ray is seen backstage telling Earl Hebner’s son, Brian Hebner that he knows his father has to retire soon and that the job is his.  Out goes Hebner, in comes Bobby Roode who is concerned with Aries’ losing his match and possibly not having a tag team partner anymore.  Roode promises that Rockstar Spud will not be winning this match while Bully says he will make sure the best man wins.

Austin Aries vs. Rockstar Spud

“The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived” Austin Aries, the creator “Option C”, is heading out to the ring now to face off against Rockstar Spud.  Spud comes out with a new sense of presence it seems like.  The two size each other up for a bit and let the crowd dictate the pace.  They lock-up and Aries shows his superiority by spinning on Spud’s back and locking in the Last Chancery during the first moments of the match!  Spud scrambles the ropes in time and they separate.  Some chain wrestling by the two stars trading waistlocks, headlocks, and wristlocks followed by a nice hiptoss by Aries.  Aries then hits a rough knee in the corner and assumes control of the match.  He heads out to the apron and hits his trademark Springboard Splash with that kink he does mid-air.  An embarrassing set of punches in the corner to Spud give the Brit a small window to return fire, but to no avail.

Aries then goads the crowd on with his other trademark move, the Pendulum Elbow for a 2-count, followed up by a Rear Chinlock.  Aries hits a devastating neckbreaker in the ropes.  Nice return Missle Dropkick by Spud, who also reverses a whip and boot in the corner with a boot of his own to Aries!  Spud hits Aries from several angles with an elbow from each set of ropes and when Aries reverses the fourth try for a leg-trap suplex, Spud reverses with a nice kick and dropkick.  Aries then hits his “1-2 Combination” as Josh Matthews calls it and locks in the Last Chancery again, this time for about ten seconds before Spud reaches the rope.  HUGE dropkick to the face of Spud, setting up the Brainbuster attempt…but NO!  Spud gets the roll-up but Aries kicks out.  Aries then hits two Discus Elbows, backing him in the corner and hitting two more high impact elbows.  Aries goes for the Brainbuster unopposed now, goes for the cover, but SPUD KICKS OUT!  Aries makes sure by covering him again, but SPUD KICKS OUT AGAIN!

Aries is livid as Spud starts fighting his way up and trading punches with Austin Aries!  Spud gets the upper-hand with some nice jabs, but as he winds up for the comedic final shot, but Aries counters and whips Spud in the corner.  Spud jumps up and blocks it, landing behind him and hitting the wind-up shot.  Spud then head up top and hits a great Cross Body Block for a super close 2-count!  Aries catches Spud going up again to the top rope and perches him up there with a wicked chop to the back.  Super Backsuplex attempt by Aries turns into a Super Acid Drop from the top rope by Rockstar Spud to get the underdog win!  This is by far the biggest win in Rockstar Spud’s short career!  What a great way to get this generation’s Spike Dudley some much needed and much deserved credibility.

Winner – Rockstar Spud
