Impact Wrestling Slammiversary - Lashley vs. Drew Galloway

Best IMPACT Wrestling PPV Matches Of 2016

IMPACT Wrestling produced 17 pay-per-view events and television specials in 2016. Total Non-Stop Deletion kicked off in what would be a solid year for the promotion in terms of in-ring storytelling.

Stars such as Drew Galloway, Matt Hardy, and Ethan Carter III solidified themselves as company mainstays with terrific performances on PPV and weekly television. That being said, let’s take a look at some of the best IMPACT Wrestling PPV matches of 2016:

Six-way Ladder Match – IMPACT Wrestling Destination X 2016

This match kicked off the action for Destination X special event. The six-way ladder bout featured DJ Z,  Andrew Everett, Braxton Sutter, Mandrews, Rockstar Spud, and Trevor Lee (with Gregory Helms).

This was a fast-paced bout with all participants showing some incredible action inside the ring. DJ Z emerged as the winner. He is currently a member of the Latino World Order on SmackDown. You may know him as Joaquin Wilde.

Lashley vs. Ethan Carter III (TNA World Title No Holds Barred Match – Bound for Glory 2016)

2016 was a banner year for Lashley. The former amateur wrestling champion stepped up his game and became the most dominant force in IMPACT Wrestling. He retired Kurt Angle and went on championship pursuit.

The pursuit led him to the world title, which he defended against EC3 at Bound for Glory 2016. The No Holds Barred stipulation only added to the brutality and violence that both men endured during the match.

Gail Kim vs. Rosemary (IMPACT Wrestling Sacrifice 2016)

Gail Kim is a legend of the IMPACT Knockouts Division. Rosemary has one of the coolest gimmicks in the promotion. That’s my opinion. The two women squared off at Sacrifice 2016. Now that’s a fact.

This was an excellent match-up between two contrasting styles. Kim looked incredible as the battle-tested veteran. Rosemary held her own against one of the very best in the business to produce a great match.

Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy (Full Metal Mayhem Knockout Match – Slammiversary 2016)

Matt Hardy had a career renaissance in TNA/ IMPCT Wrestling. This by no means is a hyperbole. The one-half of the Hardy Boyz completely reinvented himself – thanks to the creative freedom that came with working in the promotion.

Hardy and Jeff competed against each other in a Full Metal Mayhem Match at Slammiversary 2016. This match was a lot better than their Extreme Rules Match at WWE WrestleMania 25. Both men showed some excellent character work in this TNA PPV outing.

Lashley vs. Drew Galloway (Tapout or Knockout Match for TNA World Title – Slammiversary 2016)

Lashley and Drew Galloway found themselves in a match of extraordinary stipulation in the Slammiversary main event. Both men had to look out for creative waves to win the world title match via tapout or knockout.

This turned out to be one of the best IMPACT Wrestling PPV matches of 2016. Lashley and Galloway went toe-to-toe to determine the fate of the title. In the end, it was the Almighty to win the match via knockout.
