Ric Flair hosted another episode of “WOOOOO! Nation with Ric Flair.”
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin was his latest guest and they discussed Flair’s record 16 world championship reigns. In Austin’s opinion, Flair’s streak will always have a special meaning to professional wrestling fans, even if John Cena breaks that record.
Steve Austin claimed that Vince McMahon will do something to distinguish the accomplishment, even if Cena breaks the record.
“He’ll make up something that if [Cena] gets to 17, his were all WWE and Ric’s place is still special,” given that eight of the titles were from NWA. Austin continued, “so with all due respect to John Cena, if he was to get to 17 and they eclipse your number 16, does it mean the same in a guy’s book like mine, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, my thoughts? It’s not even the same ballpark.”
Ric Flair followed up with Austin’s comments and brushed off this being a big deal, if Cena does indeed break his record for world title wins.
“I don’t care. I don’t think about it,” Flair said. “I don’t have any belts hanging in my room. I’m lucky. I have more fun than anybody alive. That I know for sure.”
