The Very Latest On Impact Wrestling On Destination America; Could A New Deal For TV Be In The Works?

While it’s still possible that TNA Wrestling and Destination America are still negotiating a television deal, there is not much being said publicly about working out a new deal.

Discovery Networks, Destination America’s parent company, didn’t have a ratings problem with Impact Wrestling, but instead with the cost of programming.  The addition of Ring of Honor didn’t really help the Wednesday night block of programming, but Destination America wasn’t paying for ROH or promoting it.

It’s said that TNA could stay on the network and just take a lower money deal, but the lack of a renewal announcement and new taping dates is reason for concern. Several of Discovery’s overseas deals for TNA have ended in recent weeks, and it’s not being considered to be a good sign. As far as talent being informed, it’s said they are in the dark about the TV status, but are hopeful since there are live events booked at the end of October that something will be announced soon.
