Gawker To Rebrand As Political Site
The New York Times is reporting Gawker.com is committing to a new rebranding that will see the media website be retooled as a political based site.
Gawker, which wrestling fans would know as the site being sued by Hulk Hogan for illegally obtaining and releasing his sex tape, is using the 2016 political campaign to “ride the circus of the 2016 campaign cycle, seizing the opportunity to reorient its editorial scope on political news, commentary and satire.”
Gawker editor Alex Pareene said although they are going to be politically-driven, the site will have a satirical nature and noted John Oliver as an influence.
