According to Pro Wrestling Sheet‘s Ryan Satin, the TNA roster had no knowledge of the new television deal with Pop TV before it was announced.
Satin says multiple sources had said a number of people on the TNA roster didn’t find out about the deal until it was already made public earlier this morning. Apparently some of the top stars knew TNA was negotiating with WGN and Pop TV, but had no knowledge of which one was chosen, if any. Overall, the roster was happy these negotiations were kept quiet, and weren’t upset that they didn’t know before the announcement, because it would have been almost guaranteed that the news would leak.
There’s been no confirmation on why TNA Wrestling and Dixie Carter signed with Pop TV over WGN, but it’s rumored that it had to do with Pop TV being a CBS affiliate.
