More Backstage News on the Brock Lesnar UFC 200 Deal, When Fight Negotiations Began, Training, The Latest on CM Punk Fighting and More

As noted, WWE issued a statement last night confirming the Brock Lesnar UFC 200 fight is a “one-off” deal, and Lesnar will be returning to WWE TV at SummerSlam this year.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, while Lesnar’s opponent for UFC 200 has yet to be revealed, the announcement of his opponent will likely come on Monday on ESPN.

The deal for the Brock Lesnar UFC 200 fight was apparently finalized just recently, as MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani reported last night, however talks between WWE and UFC have been ongoing as Lesnar began training for the fight back in April of this year. As noted, when UFC added Brock Lesnar back to their website as an active fighter rumors began circulating that Lesnar might appear at UFC 200, but Dana White denied those rumors. White added Lesnar was supposed to have been added to the UFC site in the Alumni section, but was accidentally added as an active fighter, a mistake which was quickly corrected after being contacted by WWE lawyers.
