Oba Femi Passes Up Major Opportunity for Brock Lesnar Match at WWE SummerSlam 2026

Oba Femi made one of the boldest choices of his WWE career on the June 29 episode of RAW. Instead of using his guaranteed World Championship match, he chose to continue his rivalry with Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

The decision came just days after Femi won the King of the Ring tournament, which normally earns the winner a world title match at SummerSlam. Rather than announcing whether he would challenge World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns or WWE Champion Sami Zayn, Femi came face-to-face with a returning Brock Lesnar, setting up another huge match between the two.

Brock Lesnar’s attack changed Oba Femi’s SummerSlam plans

Oba Femi opened RAW for his King of the Ring celebration. He looked ready to announce which world champion he wanted to face. Before he could speak, Lesnar’s music hit. It was Lesnar’s first WWE appearance since defeating Femi at Clash in Italy.

Lesnar came to the ring with Paul Heyman. He congratulated Femi on winning King of the Ring before saying that Heyman had kept him updated on everything Femi had been saying while he was away. According to Lesnar, Femi had been calling him a “coward” and a “b*tch.”

Lesnar then reminded Femi of an old saying, “Talk sh*t, get hit” and immediately hit Femi with a low blow and followed it up with an F-5.

As Lesnar and Heyman started walking away, Femi accused Lesnar of always leaving before anyone can fight back. He said that now Lesnar was standing right in front of him, he called him “still a b*tch.”

Femi challenged Lesnar to one more match at SummerSlam, Lesnar’s hometown. The Beast accepted the challenge right away but wanted to raise the stakes. He suggested they settle things inside Hell in a Cell.

Later, Adam Pearce met with Femi backstage. Pearce reminded him that by choosing to face Lesnar at SummerSlam, he was giving up his guaranteed World Championship match, for now. Femi didn’t seem worried. He said he could challenge for a world title whenever he wanted.

Femi vs Lesnar 3 is now official.
