ESPN is reporting interim UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been pulled from his title unification bout against Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on Saturday, after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency informed Jones of a potential doping violation on Wednesday.
During a breaking news conference at the MGM Grand Hotel, UFC President Dana White announced the news that the main event bout has been called off, and you can watch White’s announcement in the video below.
Jones tested positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition sample taken June 16 by USADA, said Jeff Novitzky, UFC’s vice president of athlete health and performance. USADA administers the UFC’s anti-drug policy.

Novitzky added that there is not enough time for a full review of the drug test, so the bout has been called off as a result.
Jones has never tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in his career, however he did test positive for traces of cocaine prior to a fight against Cormier in January 2015.
The heavyweight fight featuring a returning Brock Lesnar taking on Mark Hunt will now headline UFC 200, which takes place on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. Earlier tonight, we reported a possible major spoiler on Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam opponent, and you can read that report at this link.
