Former WWE and TNA Champion Kurt Angle recently spoke with Title Match Wrestling, and during the interview Angle was asked about a potential WWE return. Angle noted that with NXT WWE has plenty of talent, but with the recent brand split there might be a need for additional hands.
Angle said that when talking about a WWE return it has to be considered what Vince McMahon and Triple H want, and Angle said he spoke with them a few months ago, but they don’t know when or what they might want to do with Angle. Angle did say, however, that he doesn’t expect to be in a WWE ring this year, and if it happens, it could be next year, or “maybe not at all.” Angle noted there is interest on both sides in a WWE return, but so far nothing has happened with the talks.
Things could be different this time around, however, as Dave Meltzer was recently asked if it’s possible WWE reaches out to Kurt Angle next year for the next installment of the WWE 2K video game franchise, and have Angle return similarly to the way Sting returned last year. Meltzer responded to the question by saying “so the answer to that question is yes.”
