During WWE Raw this week, the announce team referred to the live crowd in Los Angeles as “fans”, as opposed to “WWE Universe”, during the Roman Reigns and Rusev opening segment. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com and Wrestling Observer Radio, the change was deliberate and was done intentionally.
While Meltzer does not know if the use of the word “fans” as opposed to “WWE Universe” is a permanent change in WWE, he did have the following to say on changes being made to the Raw brand.
“They’ve taken stock of things. Last week’s rating…believe it or not, after all the ratings, last week’s rating made them…I don’t know exactly everything but the verbiage isn’t supposed to be as bad now.”
Meltzer also pointed to the use of the entrance ramp and big screen to upgrade entrances as a way of trying to enhance the Raw brand.
