The following are results from Sunday night’s WWE Newcastle live event in England.
(1) Dolph Ziggler def. The Miz to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Maryse was on hand, and got ejected from the match after slapping Ziggler, to a big pop.
(2) Heath Slater & Rhyno def. The Usos & Breezango in a triple threat tag match to retain the Smackdown tag team titles. Fun match. Rhyno pinned one of the Usos off a gore.
(3) Jack Swagger def. Curt Hawkins. Total squash match. Maybe two minutes long. Not sure what the point of this was at all…
(4) Naomi & Nikki Bella def. Carmella & Natalya. Nikki has been super over in the UK during this tour. She got the win over Carmella with Rack Attack 2.0.
(5) Baron Corbin def. Kalisto with the End of Days.
(6) Kane & American Alpha def. Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper of the Wyatt Family. Finisher fest to end the match including an RKO to Jason Jordan and a chokeslam to Harper.
(7) The Hype Bros def. The Ascension.
(8) Becky Lynch def. Alexa Bliss to retain the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. The match on Tuesday should be really good if these live events have been any indication.
(9) AJ Styles def. Dean Ambrose to retain the WWE world title after throwing him into an exposed turnbuckle and getting a roll-up pin. Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds after to send the crowd home happy.
