Talking Smack Recap (11/8): Alexa Bliss, Breezango, and The Miz with Maryse
This week’s episode of Talking Smack begins with Renee Young and Daniel Bryan excited about the announcement that closed Smackdown. Smackdown’s commissioner, Shane McMahon, will be joining team Smackdown at Survivor Series after an injury sidelined Baron Corbin.
Daniel Bryan briefly talks about wanting to join the team but of course he could not because of his injury. He wanted Baron Corbin on the team but the injury forced him to make a choice.
Daniel Bryan then explains that both Raw and Smackdown’s teams have a level of dissent in them. Team Smackdown needed a leader like Shane McMahon. Renee Young wants to know if Shane McMahon is in ring shape but Daniel Bryan does not know if he is ready. He implies that his in ring ability does not matter because he is there to be a leader.
After Renee Young’s failed attempt to get the other names that Daniel Bryan considered, he changes the conversation to Smackdown’s 900th episode. The both say that they are excited to be a part of it. Daniel Bryan is excited because he remembers being in high school when Smackdown first started and now he is the GM of the show.
First Guest: Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss storms on stage with an ice pack wrapped around her left elbow. She believes she was robbed in her match. They show the video of her leg being on the rope before she tapped out to the Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. She says that she was cheated especially since she dominated 94 percent of the match. She demands that Daniel Bryan fixes it before she walked away.
Alexa Bliss stuck to her role as the bratty heel well. She played up the injured elbow and acknowledged that it might be broken but she still wanted to fight. It made her look tougher but also made Becky Lynch’s finishing move seem strong.
Daniel Bryan believes Alexa Bliss deserves another chance but he isn’t sure that she will get it. Renee Young tries to sell the idea of her getting a rematch on next week’s episode, but Daniel Bryan doesn’t seem to be buying it.
The conversation turns to James Ellsworth deciding to become the mascot for Smackdown at Survivor Series. Daniel Bryan admits that he doesn’t believe that they need a mascot and he doesn’t believe that the women’s team needs a coach. He then says that he is happy that Ellsworth is just the mascot because he doesn’t want him a part of Smackdown’s team.
Second Guest: Breezango
Breezango comes out in their police costume and gives Daniel Bryan a brief pat down for security purposes. Renee Young congratulates them on becoming a part of Team Smackdown. They say that all of Raw’s tag teams are horribly dressed. They bring out a pair of handcuffs and explains that is what they bring to the table against Raw.
This was a hard segment to watch. They stayed off topic almost as much as the Hype Bros usually do.
Third Guest: The Miz w/ Maryse
Maryse is still doing all of the talking for the Miz. She says that they feel disrespected every time they are on the show. Daniel Bryan says he doesn’t like the Miz but he gets more opportunities on Smackdown. Maryse tells Renee Young that she should thank them for making Talking Smack’s ratings. Maryse says Daniel Bryan is jealous of the Miz.
Daniel Bryan says that if the Miz doesn’t win next week then he would love to trade the Miz. The Miz would only whisper to Maryse. He never spoke to Daniel Bryan or Renee Young. Before the conversation could escalate, Renee Young ended the show and reminded the audience of Smackdown’s 900th episode.
