According to last night’s Wrestling Observer Radio via F4WOnline.com, WWE officials reportedly “very much” want UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor to appear on WWE TV at some point.
As noted, Triple H was in attendance for UFC 205 last night, during which McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight Title to become the first ever simultaneous Champion in two UFC divisions.
McGregor began to stir the pot regarding a possible WWE appearance earlier this year when he took shots at WWE wrestlers being “absolute dweebs”, and he took particular aim at WWE stars John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
McGregor pulled no punches when speaking about Lesnar and WWE talents, saying “for the most part, those WWE guys are pu**ies. They’re messed up pu**ies if you ask me.”
On John Cena McGregor had the following to say:
“What’s the main guy? John Cena. He’s 40. He’s 40 years of age. He’s walking around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He’s a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f*cker.”
We did note back in August, before WWE SummerSlam, that McGregor’s comments were not a work, and were not part of some elaborate story line being setup by WWE and UFC. Dave Meltzer added people in WWE were told not to respond to McGregor’s remarks, and those superstars who did, including Sasha Banks, Roman Reigns, Ric Flair, Sheamus and more, did so on their own accord.

Meltzer noted “there is no angle for sure” right now, but said that of course could change in the future. Meltzer also alluded to McGregor’s rant possibly screwing up “a big business deal” between UFC and WWE, and that “the deal” is falling apart. Meltzer did not add any further details on what the potential deal between the two companies might include.
