NXT Women’s Championship Match: Asuka (c) vs Peyton Royce w/Billie Kay
Royce locks in a side headlock. Asuka reverses it and takes Royce down to the mat. Asuka transitions into a head scissors. Royce kicks out of it. Royce locks in a side headlock. Asuka fights out of it and sends Royce into the ropes. Royce attempts a shoulder block, but Asuka doesn’t go down. Asuka misses a shining wizard. Royce attempts a spin kick, Asuka ducks. Asuka attempts a kick, that Royce ducks, which leads to a standoff. Neither superstar can gain an advantage at this point. Asuka wiggles her butt at Royce to antagonize her into making a mistake. Royce ends up walking right into a flying hip attack from Asuka. Royce crawls to the apron. Asuka hip attacks Royce off the apron. Asuka stalks Royce on the outside of the ring. Royce grabs Asuka’s arm and pulls her shoulder first into the ring post.
After a short break, Royce is working a cobra clutch. Asuka tries to fight out of it, but Royce takes her down by her injured arm/shoulder. Royce locks in a sick standing armbar, which she transitions into a standing hammerlock. Royce misses a spin kick. Asuka hits a low kick followed by a vertical suplex. Royce whips Asuka into the corner, but Asuka hops up to the second rope and missile dropkicks Royce. Asuka pops Royce up in an arm drag but turns it into a knee to the face. After multiple pin attempts by both Royce and Asuka, Royce drops Asuka shoulder first into the mat. Running elbow drop by Royce. Royce tries to set up her finish, but Asuka manages to reverse the hold. Royce finally hits her spin kick, which sends Asuka tumbling to the mat. Asuka bridges out of the pin attempt at 2.8. Royce tries to pick up Asuka, but Asuka catches her with a knee. Asuka flips Royce over with a flying armbar. Asuka immediately transitions into the Asuka lock for the win!
Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion, Asuka!
After the match, Billie Kay and Royce double team Asuka. Ember Moon hits the ring and makes the save. After clearing the ring, Moon and Asuka stare each other down. Asuka starts to leave the ring, but turns back around and poses in Moon’s face with the title.
