Roman Reigns Reveals His Big Summerslam Announcement On WWE RAW, American Grit Viewership

WWE RAW

Roman Reigns announced he is the number one contender for the Universal Championship at Summerslam, and said it’s because it’s his yard.

After Roman ran down his list of accomplishments and announced himself as the number one contender, Samoa Joe came down and said Reigns didn’t have him on his list because he couldn’t beat him. Joe talked about how Reigns didn’t measure up to him, then they slugged it out in the ring before Reigns took him down and Joe retreated.

If the match is official, Reigns could face either Joe or Brock Lesnar at Summerslam; they will first meet at Great Balls of Fire next month, but Joe and Roman will meet on tonight’s episode of RAW. It has been speculated that Reigns would face Braun Strowman at Summerslam instead, and would finally face off with Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34.

American Grit

According to ShowBuzz Daily, last night’s new episode of “American Grit” with John Cena brought in 1.759 million viewers, which is up from 1.120 million viewers the show had in its season premiere.

It was noted that American Grit, which aired up against WWE Money In The Bank, benefitted this week from having the PGA’s US Open golfing championships as the lead-in show.
