Huge Creative Plan Changes Rumored To Have Been Made For The SummerSlam & WM 34 Main Events

According to the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter the main event for SummerSlam has been changed.

Meltzer is confirming that following Roman Reigns‘ announcement that he will be facing the winner of Samoa Joe vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship the new SummerSlam main event is penciled in to be: Brock Lesnar (c) vs Roman Reigns.

Originally Lesnar was expected to face Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship. Lesnar would then move on to defend the championship against Roman Reigns next year at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Now that their match is happening at SummerSlam, unless WWE plans on doing Lesnar vs Reigns III, that would mean that the main event for WrestleMania 34 has changed as well. Meltzer did speculate that since John Cena is now a “free agent” they could go the route of pulling the trigger on Reigns vs Cena.

Meltzer also noted that, “everyone realizes how strong Samoa Joe has gotten over in the Lesnar feud.”
