Natalya Shares Experiences Of Being Bullied, Brie Bella Weighs In On WWE Mixed Match Challenge (Video)

Be A Star

Natalya recently wrote her latest column for the Calgary Sun, and spoke out against bullying and shared her own experiences with it as a kid and adult; you can read a few excerpts below:

The kids at school would see my dad on WWE programming and it would bring out the worst in them. They couldn’t separate his television character from real life, and would say mean things about him to me on the school bus.

At times, it was hard for me to explain to them that what my father did was entertainment. Instead I said nothing, internalized everything and went home feeling sad about the situation. I didn’t know what to do and dreaded going to school because of it…

Nattie continued, talking about being cyberbullied as an adult, and what to do about it:

…Over the years, I’ve learned to develop a thicker skin and do something about the negativity. I don’t have to put up with bullying, especially on the internet. I can block people who say mean things and I can choose to ignore them. I can report people that are abusive.

I wish I knew then what I know now, that we do have a voice and can initiate change in the world. We do not have to give other people power over our happiness.
