SEVENTH MATCH: New Japan Cup First Round: Yoshi-Hashi vs. Kota Ibushi
They lock up. Clean break from Ibushi. Test of strength sees Yoshi-Hashi lock in a hammerlock. Ibushi counters with a wristlock. Ibushi counters into a grapevine. Yoshi-Hashi goes for an armbar, but Ibushi rolls out. Ibushi locks in a reverse bow and arrow, but Yoshi-Hashi wriggles out.
Gut kick from Yoshi-Hashi. Yoshi-Hashi locks in the side head lock. Yoshi-Hashi drops Ibushi with a shoulder block, but Ibushi gets right back up. After a swift exchange of reversals, Ibushi hits Yoshi-hashi with a swift roundhouse to the chest.
Ibushi keeps Yoshi-Hashi grounded. Ibushi works over his opponent’s injured shoulder. Yoshi-hashi gets to the ropes. Ibushi breaks but stomps Yoshi’s shoulder.
They exchange forearms. Ibushi kicks Yoshi-hashi in the arm. Yoshi-Hashi hits a dropkick to the knee and a DDT. Yoshi-Hashi hits a Hurricanrana. Yoshi-Hashi chops Ibushi and then drapes him on the ropes. Yoshi-Hashi hits a running dropkick.
Yoshi-Hashi stomps on Ibushi. Yoshi-Hashi goes for a powerbomb, but Ibushi backdrops him. A flurry of strikes drops Yoshi-Hashi. Ibushi hits a Standing Moonsault for two. Ibushi counters a German Suplex. Yoshi-Hashi hits a Thrust Kick but Ibushi hits Bomaye Knee Strike.
Ibushi pulls Yoshi-Hashi onto the apron but Yoshi reverses with a Suplex Neckbreaker on the apron. Yoshi-Hashi throws Ibushi into the crowd. They brawl to the back of the crowd, where Ibushi hits a Hurricanrana. Ibushi climbs to the balcony and hits a Moonsault.
Ibushi rolls Yoshi-hashi in the ring and hits a springboard attack, followed by a Half and Half Suplex for two. Ibushi goes for Kamigoye but Ibushi headbutts out. They exchange forearms. Slap fight follows. Yoshi-Hashi wins the slapfight. Ibushi pummels Yoshi-Hashi. Yoshi-Hashi counters the Penalty Kick but eats a headkick. Yoshi-Hashi hits a Facebuster. Yoshi-Hashi hits Canadian Destroyer for two.
Yoshi-Hashi locks in a Butterfly lock. Yoshi-Hashi hits Head Hunter. Yoshi-Hashi hits Bunker Buster for two. Yoshi-Hashi goes for Karma but Ibushi flips out. Yoshi-Hashi hits Western Lariat for two.
Yoshi-Hashi hits Liger Bomb for two. Yoshi-Hashi locks in the butterfly lock. Ibushi gets to the ropes. Yoshi-Hashi hits running double knees for two.
Yoshi-Hashi goes for Karma but Ibushi fights out. Ibushi hits a lariat. Ibushi goes for Kamigoye, but Yoshi-Hashi counters. Ibushi hits a straight jacket suplex for two. Ibushi hits Kamigoye for the pinfall.
WINNER: Kota Ibushi.
