On changes in Impact between regimes:

BS: When I first got here Billy Corgan was there. Then Jeff Jarrett… This is going to sound stupid but the only changes that popped into my head are when we do backstage segments. At first, we would have a full sheet to read but when management changed that went away. Instead of a sheet, it’s now bullet points.

On Feuding with Rockstar Spud and the Empty Arena, no turnbuckle pad patch:

BS: The angle was Spuds idea. The empty arena, no turnbuckle pad match was management’s idea. I was/am still very proud of that match. Empty arena matches are either really great or really boring. We filmed that around 1 PM in the afternoon. It was like everyone was just chilling then it was like already everyone out so we can go beat the hell out of each other. I am proud of the way it came off.

On working with your spouse:

BS: Well for one, I am not that big of a proponent of marriage and two I am not big on dating in the wrestling business, but I can’t really say that anymore since I have done both those things (laughs). I’ve always been so heavily involved in pro wrestling that I haven’t dated anyone except my wife (Allie) in the business. All my relationships ended terribly because they didn’t understand it. Now, we have an understanding with everything we do. For us, it works so perfectly. I may be just old and lazy now, but I love traveling with my wife. I don’t drink as much, and I get tired at night now (laughs). We have both been in the business so long that no one in the back oversteps or acts inappropriately. There is a rule that, especially if you are on the indies that you shouldn’t bring your girlfriend or wife around the locker room. I’ve seen all that stuff but never gone through it.

On the wedding angle with Laurel Van Ness and Allie

BS: The actual wedding itself was a top five or top three moments of things I have been involved in while I have been wrestling. When we first heard about the angle we weren’t sure how it was going to go or when it was going to happen. I have to give a lot of credit to Madison Rayne and John Gaborik. They pretty much wrote the whole segment. I was thinking about this the other day and any good promo stuff I have done usually it comes from Madison. When we did the wedding, it was during a long stretch of tapings, maybe eight days. The Wedding was the very last thing we filmed on the very last day. The crew was tired, the fans were tired. God bless them for showing up every week. It was the main event for all the tapings and that was the biggest house they drew all week. Management told us that there were Universal employees came to watch because they heard a wrestling wedding was going on. I almost didn’t want to watch it back. When we did it live it was so loud. I was doing this cheesy soap opera lines and they were getting PWG false finish pops. When I did watch it on TV I was ok with it. Sometimes the crowd heat doesn’t come across on TV and this time it did. I was really happy it did. It was a big moment for all of us.
