EVOLVE Make Last Minute Venue Change

The following report by PWInsider details some issues that EVOLVE have had in the last few days regarding an inconvenient last-minute venue change in Brooklyn.

EVOLVE was set to return to La Boom in Woodside, Queens, NY on Saturday 6/23 but announced this afternoon that the company has been “forced” to move the event to the Gravesend area of Brooklyn, NY at the Most Precious Blood Youth Center (2739 Harway Avenue).   That’s about a 40 minute drive with traffic and if you are using public transportation, it may as well be another world.  Five Borough Wrestling is running the same venue this Friday 6/15.

The La Boom website lists an event for MMA company Extreme Cage Fighting on their website for the 6/23 date, so it appears the venue double booked and EVOLVE was bounced out.   That’s a rough change to deal with ten days out for the show, especially since it means whatever local advertising the promotion may have attempted is now completely useless.

EVOLVE is offering refunds to anyone who cannot attend at the new location.  All existing tickets and seating arrangements will be honored at the Brooklyn location.

EVOLVE has run the venue regularly in recent years and their sister promotion SHINE ran La Boom earlier this month.
