NJPW G1 Climax Night 3 (7/16) Switchblade/Tanahashi, Okada/Fale, More

EIGHTH MATCH: A Block Match: Togi Makabe (2 pts) vs. Minoru Suzuki (0 pts)

These two brawled everywhere. In the ring. At ringside. In the crowd. Chairs and Young Lions went flying throughout the course of this wrestling match-turned-bar fight. Suzuki and Makabe traded such stiff strikes that Makabe was felled many times. The referee almost stopped the match at various points because of Makabe getting knocked out. Suzuki couldn’t hit the Gotch Piledriver and that led to Makabe’s comeback. A Spider German Suplex, followed by two King Kong Knee Drops got Makabe the surprise win over Suzuki.

WINNER: Togi Makabe (4 pts)

NINTH MATCH: A Block Match: Kazuchika Okada (0 pts) vs. Bad Luck Fale (0 pts)

Okada was almost reckless throughout the match. Plenty of brawling to start. Okada was utterly obsessed with hitting a Tombstone on Fale but it never materialized. Okada put up a decent fight but Fale had Tanga Loa making plenty of distractions. Tama Tonga ran in and hit a Gun Stun on Okada, behind the referee’s back. Fale followed up with a Bad Luck Fall for the win.

WINNER: Bad Luck Fale (2 pts)
