Charlotte Flair made her return on tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live, and she already earned her way into the Women’s Championship match at Summerslam.
Charlotte returned tonight to save her friend Becky Lynch from an attack by Carmella, and Paige ended up putting Charlotte in a match with the champion. Paige also made the stipulation that Charlotte would be added to the Summerslam title match if she won, which didn’t sit too well with Becky.
Charlotte won in tonight’s main event after Carmella attempted a Figure Four, making Carmella tap out to the signature move after reversing it. They cameras then showed Becky watching backstage and looking visibly angered about not getting her singles match, even though earlier in the night she said she wouldn’t root against her friend.
