Goldberg Reveals His Best Jackhammer Ever, Which One Was Hardest To Perform

Goldberg has hit countless Superstars with the Jackhammer and he has an immediate answer for which one was the toughest to pull off.

Goldberg appeared on Wednesday’s episode of WWE’s The Bump where he looked back on his wrestling career in WCW and WWE. “Da Man” was asked if he could name the hardest wrestler to hit the move with, and he said it was definitely Paul Wight (aka The Giant/Big Show).

“The Big Show — he weighed 525, over 500 [pounds] the first time I Jackhammered him. A little piece of information that people don’t know, you could probably guess it, but he didn’t like being upside-down. And when we were main eventing the house shows, I can’t remember what year it was,” Goldberg explained, “we were going from town to town to town putting on matches that were literally over before the bell rang.

“He would come out and choke Charles Robinson and set him up for the chokeslam, I would come running out of the locker room, my music would hit and I’d spear him, I’d Jackhammer him and pin him before the bell would ring. We did that every night, every city that we did these house shows and people were on their feet,” he said. “I would hold him up in the air as long as I could, just to make him feel a little bit uncomfortable and vulnerable because how often do you get to do that to a giant, right? But by far, he was the hardest that I hoisted. No question.”

The crew then played video of Goldberg hitting a Jackhammer on Wight on the November 23, 1998 episode of WCW Nitro. Asked where it ranked among his best Jackhammers, Goldberg said it was definitely number one.

“Oh that’s number one, there’s no question about it. Especially considering the fact that I wasn’t supposed to beat him tonight, which was a weird deal. That’s another story altogether, but for him to allow me to do that to him was unbelievable and it shows his athleticism. There’s no question that it shows I was fairly strong at the time, but his ability to be upside-down and to set himself up for that move shows how athletic that guy was.”
