WWE Raw SuperShow Preview: It’s Already Time to “Go Home”

Tonight's WWE Raw Supershow comes to us live from Kansas City, Missouri. No matches or special guest stars have announced for tonight's event, but we are just six days away from Hell in a Cell. While the excitement of a “go-home” show is weakened by the fact that our last PPV was just eight days ago, there are still a few things I think we can look forward to as the WWE rushes towards yet another big event.

Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger are expected to go wrestle a singles match for the United States title at Hell in a Cell, and conveniently enough for creative this angle needs very little build. Tonight expect to see the final straw for a jealous champion, leading to the match being booked. I do NOT, however, expect Vickie's services as a manager to be on the line at Hell in a Cell. With yet another PPV before Survivor Series the WWE has plenty of time to use this feud more than once, and Vickie is the creative glue holding it all together.

Last weekend former WWE Champion Alberto del Rio lost his coveted title to John Cena, and took out his frustrations on John Morrison in a minute-long match that saw the Shaman of Sexy tap out to the cross-armbar. Unfortunately del Rio has taken the short end of the stick in this scenario, and rather than being seen as a dominant contender the majority of people were too busy feeling bad for JoMo to take notice. I expect to see something big for del Rio tonight going into Hell in a Cell. If not “big”, at least large enough to make people remember he's in the match…

On last week's Raw Supershow they continued to infuriate the internet crowd by allowing Kelly Kelly to win once again over the Divas of Doom. The question now is: who challenges the champion for the Divas title at Hell in a Cell? Beth Phoenix has had the last two PPV opportunities to get the job done, and it may finally be time for Natalya to show us what she's worth. Regardless, if they don't do something dominant this week, I'm afraid it will be next to impossible to continue taking this angle seriously.

And speaking of taking things seriously, how long until the Miz and R-Truth make their WWE return? I doubt they show up on Raw tonight, but once John Cena did it the whole “firing” angle collapsed upon itself. We know they're not fired, and it's only a matter of time before we see the Awesome Truth back in the ring. All signs point to a predictable interference in Sunday's Hell in a Cell match for the WWE title.

With Miz and Truth out of action for at least tonight, Raw will most likely be a Smackdown-heavy event. What's next for Mark Henry and Randy Orton? Sheamus and Christian? Who will challenge for the WWE Tag Team titles at Hell in a Cell, and what will become of John Cena's prediction that a Steel Cage will be hanging over the ring tonight? Find out at 9/8c when WWE Raw Supershow goes live!
