Impact WrestlingRob Van Dam def. Mr. Anderson

What I Liked:

The beginning of the night started with some quick action between two of the more popular stars in the company. I felt like this was the right call because you needed something other than the same "talking" to kick off a show. Anderson and RVD did a great job making this match interesting from the very beginning, with Anderson gaining the offense rather quickly. The pacing was solid for two veteran guys. I really felt like Anderson would win, but was happy RVD did. Since his loss to Roode, RVD has not really done much of anything, and this victory gives him points in the standings. It is all about parity in BFG's early stages.

What I Disliked:

When you have a series like this, it is really hard to build a legit contender because nobody goes undefeated and continues to improve. I feel like the series concept is a good idea, but the consistency of matches and development is flawed to a point.

-Austin Aries comes out and announces an X-Divison tournament to decide the new champion at Destination X. Roode interrupts Aries and begins to trash talk him. Roode continues to talk about his championship being the only one that matters.

Sonjay Dutt def. Rubix

What I Liked:

Dutt and Rubix worked very well together in a typical X-Division contest. The action was solid, and I love Dutt's transition into a spinning DDT, followed by his footstomp for the victory. It is unique, different, and really makes it more interesting than a finisher that we always see from superstars. This was a very solid match with many bright spots from both guys. There was not really any glaring mistakes that made this match look sloppy.

What I Disliked:

Why do we care about these guys, just because of a Destination X Tournament? I get the point of having enough guys to do the tournament, but we have not seen these guys in so long and now we ultimately have to care about them? I had no idea who the hell they were until they actually came out. It is too illogical and a reach for the fans to invest in a match this unimportant.
