WWE Star Sheamus Suffers Brutal Head Injury in Gym Accident (Photos)

WWE star Sheamus has seemingly been inching closer to a WWE return since undergoing surgery for a shoulder injury in December 2025. A recent gym accident, however, may have resulted in a potential setback.

In Instagram, Sheamus revealed a brutal head injury he suffered from a “gym fail.” A close-up showed a bloody gash on his head.

In another image, Sheamus could be seen holding a towel to the wound while blood trickled down his arm, face, and Boston Celtics jersey. What exactly caused the gash in the gym was not disclosed.

The former WWE Champion last competed on the November 17 edition of WWE Raw, which emanated from NYC’s Madison Square Garden. There, Sheamus, John Cena and Rey Mysterio defeated the Judgment Day in six-man tag team action. Days later, WWE announced that Sheamus had been pulled from further competition, including the Last Time Is Now tournament, due to the shoulder injury.

Sheamus later revealed that his shoulder pain had begun around May 2025, with it gradually worsening despite temporary relief from injections. The injury got so bad that “The Celtic Warrior” was unable to move his arms at one point. As a result, he underwent shoulder surgery on December 30.

In recent weeks, Sheamus had returned to in-ring training at the WWE Performance Center with the help of NXT stars Myles Borne, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger.
