Mt. Killamanjaro — TNA Destination X Preview — @MikeKillam
Last Man Standing Match
AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels
Here we are again. It's our annual parade of the small, under-appreciated workers, and TNA's resident go-to high-flyers are front and center. Honestly, you could headline Destination X with Styles/Daniels every year until kingdom come and I'm not sure the TNA faithful would have any problem at all. Every year these guys grow and mature both in the ring and on the mic, and while I'm not exactly excited about the Dixie Carter debacle, their match tonight should be no less magical than any of their previous encounters.
Here's my question: what does this match tonight solve? The whole drug dealer, baby-mama scandal is obviously far from over – start your collective groans now. What are the chances that it all comes down to a "final" Styles/Daniels match anyway? Somehow it seems pre-mature, over-done and unfinished all at the same time! Let's just hope this match doesn't end with a screw driver…
Prediction: Christopher Daniels wins
Bound for Glory Series Match
Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle
Speaking of matches we've seen a dozen times before… Yet again, this is one most wrestling fans won't mind seeing over and over. For good or bad, there's not actually a story here either. It's simply a Bound for Glory Series match; two guys fighting for points towards a World Championship opportunity at the biggest company PPV of the year. Out of all the potential match-ups that this year's tournament allows for, I give TNA credit for producing something the fans won't mind paying money to see. I also give them credit for letting Joe and Angle go out there and wrestle a match without rushing some sort of pieced-together feud at the last minute. Sometimes all you need is two great performers and a ring, rather than clinging to the past to tell a story that simply doesn't need to be told again.
Prediction: Time Limit Draw (BFG series matches have a 10-minute time limit)
