What’s Bothering Me: Big Show, Old School Fans, Rob Van Dam

Don't forget to catch me live tonight, before and after WWE Raw, on the Voice of Wrestling and VOW Reaction. Visit the all-new VOW Network website for details.

Rob Van Dam3. Rob Van Dam

In a recent interview, Rob Van Dam reveals himself to be basically clueless to his future in the business, his status with TNA, etc. He seems to be at a legitimate crossroad, and I find that unfortunate. Not to mention a bad reflection on TNA and their use of already-over superstars.

Let me admit that I've never been a huge fan of RVD. He's sloppy in the ring and I can't connect to him on the mic. He's a lot like Jeff Hardy in that regard. Neither are my favorites, but I understand why they are so beloved. They are definite entertainers.

Even if I didn't understand, I certainly couldn't deny it.

In-ring and verbal qualities are about as far as the parallels go between RVD and Hardy, however. TNA at least tries to utilize Jeff's stardom to their advantage.

Rhino is a better comparison for Hardy in terms of treatment by Dixie and Co. Rhino was over huge. I remember when he won the WH title; the crowd erupted! He lost it less than two weeks later to Jeff Jarrett and it was all downhill from there.

But at least Rhino had an excuse in Jarrett.

I'm not claiming these guys should be in the main event picture all the time, even at all, but it shouldn't be difficult to find a consistent, productive spot for them on the program.
