The Cashbox: Punk vs Ryback Won’t Happen, Hulk Hogan Work, IC Division & More

I apologize for the delay in posting this feature this week, but I was preparing most of yesterday to host the new Post 2 Post roundtable discussion series. If you recall, we tried it out last week and because it received such a positive reaction, I decided to give it a name and add it to the list of weekly video features I produce.

Now, every Thursday afternoon, you can hear experts from around the IWC discuss all the hot topics of the week. And I had a star-studded roster this week, including Arda Ocal from the Score, Ken Napzok of Millineum Pro Wrestling, and Dameon Nelson and Linda Kay from the Pro Wrestling Report.

Kofi KingstonKofi Kingston Wins IC Title!

I want to believe! I want to believe that the Intercontinental Championship and the division as a whole will benefit from Kofi Kingston as the new man on top. At the same time, I really hope the title change last night on Main Event doesn't mean the program between Kofi and Miz is over. It hasn't even gotten started, if you ask me.

Kofi surprised even me with his verbal back-and-forth with Miz on Raw Monday during MizTV. I knew he was better than most gave him credit for, but I didn't realize he was quite that comfortable on the stick.

Miz also did an incredible job invoking sympathetic emotions out of the Nashville crowd and putting Kofi over as an even more likeable character.

These two have lots of chemistry together and I just don't think either can do any better than the other right now. I say keep them working each other and begin building a division around them. It's obvious they "want" to do something with that section of the midcard, but they have yet to fully commit for some reason in the past.

"There's no better time than the present." "Why put off 'til tomorrow what you could get done today?" "Someday is not a day of the week." — maybe these will help?

Hulk HoganHulk Hogan Sex Tape A Work?

Ken Napzok @Kozpan mentioned it (outloud, even!) during the new Post 2 Post roundtable discussion this week, but I was already thinking it — could Hulk Hogan be behind the release of his own sex tape?

I've convinced myself that at the very least, there's more to the story than meets the eye. Too many puzzling questions…

Why did Bubba wait six years to finally leak the tape? Wouldn't he have received more money back when Hogan was more relevant? Why did Hulk need to call a press conference just to announce he's suing Bubba? Isn't the best thing to do in these situations stay quiet and try to let it blow over? Piers Morgan??

I don't meant to ring the conspiracy bell, but ding ding! Things just don't quite add up. Of course, I can't tell you why Hogan would knowingly subject himself, his new wife or his children to this type of humiliation either.

Curious to what you think…work or shoot? Let me know.
