WWE Survivor Series: What Did & Did Not Bother Me

Please note, there will be plenty of discussion about WWE Survivor Series tonight on the Voice of Wrestling (starts at 6:30 EST) and VOW Reaction, immediately following Raw. Visit VOWLive.com for live feeds and the chatroom.

Dolph ZigglerWhat Did NOT Bother Me: Dolph Ziggler Wins

WWE oftens wants to go with the babyfaces in this match, as seen in the last-minute "bonus" match we received with Sin Cara, Rey, PTP, etc., but I'm glad they decided to go against that trend in this one. Dolph getting the victory over Orton and being the sole survivor on his team looks good on his resume and should give him some good talking points moving forward.

Talking points are important for Dolph, too. His relationship with Vickie now has "former" attached and it's clear he's being positioned for a major singles run. Wins like this certainly help the cause.

What I do NOT want to see is a follow-up loss tonight on Raw. The MITB contract is a great gimmick to have each year, but it's also a crutch WWE tends to use far too often with those that possess it. The mentality is, "He can lose; he has the briefcase". That's true to a point, but WWE abuses that theory and I feel it's part of the reason some of the past MITB winners didn't stick as champion once they finally cashed in and won.

Dolph should continue building momentum until he finally cashes in; the cash-in shouldn't be considered the start of his momentum. Let's hope they continue to see it that way, as last night certainly suggests they do.
