Just a quick note on my editorial schedule going forward, I will be now posting "Stars in Progress" and "What's Bothering Me" on Tuesdays and Thursdays, respectively. I will be posting occasional "Cashbox" columns as well, when a subject warrants an entire feature. The changes, as some may have noticed already, are due to my increased reporting activity here on WrestleZone. And as always, I host the Voice of Wrestling and VOW Reaction every Monday night, before and after Raw.
On to the stars…
Brad Maddox – One Step Up
The announcement was made on Raw last night that Brad Maddox will become the new assistant to Vickie Guerrero. This may mean very little to some of you, but for me, it's another thing to look forward to each week.
Some listeners joked last night during VOW Reaction that I have a man crush on Brad Maddox; I can't confirm or deny those allegations at this time.
There are certain superstars that simply have "it", and I find Brad Maddox to be one of those. I was skeptical at first when he entered the spotlight last year at the Hell in a Cell pay per view, but he has since had the opportunity to showcase his natural charisma and mic skills properly. He entertains me, period, despite his limited time on camera.
Fans aren't ready to accept Maddox as a credible competitor yet, and rightfully so – he hasn't been featured that way – but his new position alongside Vickie Guerrero should give him plenty of opportunities to continue developing his character. I won't be surprised if his interaction with the Managing Supervisor eventually gets him over with fans in babyface fashion even.
Brad Maddox, guaranteed time nearly every week on Raw, is certainly a step up in my book.
