Former WWE star Nicola Glencross (Nikki Cross) is embracing a new chapter in her wrestling career, unveiling a fresh look while preparing for her first major appearances since leaving the company.
However, longtime fans may recognize that this “new” direction is actually a return to the persona that helped put her on the map before WWE.
Glencross, formerly known as Nikki Cross, recently shared photos on social media (X) teasing what she called the “Summer of Storm,” signaling the official revival of her pre-WWE identity, Nikki Storm.
“She’s (almost) back,” Glencross wrote. “Summer of Storm loading! The Best in the Galaxy comeback is incoming.”
The teaser arrives as anticipation continues to build around her return to in-ring competition following her WWE departure in April 2026 alongside the Wyatt Sicks faction.
Nikki Storm persona returns as Independent Wrestling comeback begins
Rather than creating another character, Glencross is going back to her roots. The revived Nikki Storm persona marks a departure from the many versions fans saw throughout her WWE tenure, including the chaotic SAnitY member, the upbeat Nikki A.S.H., and the eerie Wyatt Sicks character.
The returning gimmick centers on “The Best in the Galaxy,” a confident and outspoken persona who first gained attention in the independent scene before her WWE signing in 2016. Her updated presentation also includes new cosmic-themed gear and merchandise as part of the newly launched “Summer Galaxy Collection.”
Outside the ring, Glencross and her husband, Big Damo, recently made headlines by acquiring both PROGRESS Wrestling and DEFY Wrestling following the merger of the two promotions. The move made Glencross the first female co-owner of both companies — proving she’s taking on responsibilities as quickly as she’s winning championships.
Her comeback is already underway. Glencross recently made her first UK wrestling appearance since leaving WWE at PROGRESS Chapter 196: Scorchio! and has additional independent dates scheduled for the summer.
With trademark filings secured for both “Nikki Storm” and “The Best in the Galaxy,” the former WWE star appears fully committed to this next phase of her career. For fans who followed her before WWE, the storm clouds aren’t gathering — they’re rolling back in.
