Stars in Progress: Announcers, Matt Morgan, Bob Holly

Chris Cash

I enjoyed my final appearance on VOW Reaction (for now) last night following Raw. Adam Gorzelsky will now take over the hosting duties alongside his new co-host, Howie Noel. If you don't know Howie, you should. Follow him @HCNoel and check out his incredible art work. He's a huge wrestling fan and one hell of an artist.

Nick Paglino and I will continue hosting the Voice of Wrestling every Monday night from 6:30-7:30 EST, leading you into Monday Night Raw.

And now, on to the stars in progress this week.

Michael ColeWrestling Announcers – One Up, One Down

It's probably an easy guess as to which announce group in pro wrestling I like, and which one I don't. WWE's team of announcers is far superior than TNA's awkward group in my eyes.

Todd Keneley – I still don't know how to pronounce his last name – needs to go, and go fast. I respect him for what he does, and I'm aware pro announcing (especially in wrestling) is very difficult, but he just hasn't found that groove yet. Maybe if Tenay wasn't still around, it would be different. That being said, I think I prefer Tenay over him even. And I'm not a Tenay fan.

Tazz is fine, but I find color commentating a much more forgiving position than play by play. That bodes very well for Tazz — he needs the help often.

I'm hoping JBL continues to work Raw in the future. If it's been announced already that he'll be a permanent fixture on Mondays, I haven't heard. In either case, this is a wrestling trio that works. Lawler's shtick has grown a bit tiresome, but he's still Jerry "The King" Lawler.

And Michael Cole is exactly where he needs to be now that the spotlight isn't shining directly on him.

TNA has bigger issues to deal with than their announce team, but I don't see why this couldn't be corrected quickly and easily. I still think Jeremy Borash is the best man for the job, but I'd settle for pretty much ANYONE else at this point.
