The Final Curtain Call

It seems to be the end of the road in NXT for Bayley. Asuka and Bayley told one hell of a story, one that focused on the desire of Bayley and the intensity of Asuka. When you hear the noise for Bayley, you realize that she has outgrown the NXT brand. Tonight’s match was not as stellar as last year, but it was still excellent. It is a treat to see the timing, the pacing and the facial expressions from each women, making it feel so important and so intense. As much as NXT Takeover during WrestleMania weekend is important, I feel like this is NXT’s WrestleMania.

Bayley says goodbye after her devastating loss to Asuka, as a few intense kicks turned the lights out for her. The sky is the limit for Bayley and Asuka has a few new opponents to focus on. Two of those opponents were in action as well, with Ember Moon defeating Billie Kay.

The athleticism from Moon is stellar, with her look always unique. I was impressed with her and NXT gave us just a preview of what to expect. A debut does not need to bow their entire arsenal, but it was necessary for Billie Kay. I was also very impressed with how they booked her in this match, really showcasing her height and strength. Like I mentioned before, she could be as good as Charlotte, with the sexier version of Katie Lea Burchill. After NXT tonight, you say the future of the Women’s division and it looks very promising even without their heart and soul.

Austin Aries Defeated No Way Jose

Austin Aries and No Way Jose were given ten minutes, a match that showcased so much energy and enthusiasm from Jose. Aries countered multiple times and was able to establish dominance on a younger talent. Yes, I wanted Aries to win. Yes, he is more valuable than No Way Jose.

Hideo Itami came out and attacked Austin Aries with multiple kicks. He would then hit a GTS and look enraged and energized in front of the crowd. I think this could be a great feud for both men. With the strength on the mic from Aries, there can easily be so much development on Itami’s side. He can thrive not saying too much and doing exactly what he did tonight.

Aside from working with WrestleZone, Isenberg began his career in Broadcast Journalism interning at ESPN and worked with CBS Radio for three years. He has also had the opportunity to interview some of the best athletes and performers alive, including Andrew McCutchen, Ben Roethlisberger, Chris Jericho, Billy Gunn, Karl Anderson, Matt Hardy, Steven Strasburg and others.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
