Thanks to Rick Ingram for sending in the following report:

FCW Live Event Results – 4/15/2010

FCW Arena – Tampa, FL

Match 1: Conrad Tanner pinned Rudy Parker

Match 2: Duke Rotundo pinned Leo Kruger

Match 3: Big E. Langston pinned Jacob Novak

FCW GM Norman Smiley, Asst GM Liviana, and Player’s Rep Titus O’Neill come to the ring. Smiley announces that because they manhandled FCW officials last week, Brett DiBiase & Joe Hennig will both be fined with a threat of possible suspension if further occurrences happen. FCW President Steve Keirn then joins them in the ring. He announces that he, Smiley, Tom Pritchard, & Dusty Rhodes had a long talk about the situation between DiBiase & Hennig. They decided that a old school solution was in order. Keirn reminded the audience of how they dealt with feuds like this in the old days back at the Fort Homer Hesterly Armory during the run of the original “Championship Wrestling From Florida” era… He then announced that the main event tonight would be an old school, unsanctioned “Lights Out Bunkhouse Match” wear anything you want into the ring and anything worn can be used as a weapon. He also assigned Titus O’Neill to be the referee for the match. He finally said that since the match is unsanctioned he nor Smiley could be held responsible for what DiBiase & Hennig do to each other.

Match 4: Jackson Andrews (with Curt Hawkins) pinned Percy Watson

Match 5: Byron Saxton & Mason Ryan defeated Johnny Curtis & Tyler Reks when Ryan pinned Reks

Match 6: Wes Brisco pinned Curt Hawkins (with Jackson Andrews)

FCW champion Alex Riley came to ring and announced that since it is “tax day” he is now going to impose a Florida State tax called “Alex Riley’s Lunch Money”. He feels that a champion should not have to pay for his own lunch and it should be the responsibility of the FCW Universe. He then walked around ringside with a box labeled “Alex’s Lunch Money” to collect. When he returned to the ring, he revealed the collections to be nothing but trash, specifically pointing out an empty water bottle and a ring-pop wrapper. After expressing his disgust over the results of his collection, he announced that next week he will, once again, give a title shot to a poor soul that has yet to have a chance at the FCW Championship.

Match 7: Fatal Four Way – Drake Brewer defeated Bo Rotundo, Derrick Bateman, & Vance Archer when he pinned Bateman

Match 8: 6 Person Mixed Tag Match – Aksana, Hunico, & Tito Nieves defeated Tamina, and Jimmy & Jules Uso when Nieves pinned Jimmy

Match 9: Lights Out Bunkhouse Match (special referee Titus O‘Neill) – Joe Hennig pinned Brett DiBiase.

Notes About The Show:

Jamie Keyes was the ring announcer for the evening

Matt Martlaro & Abraham Washington were tried out as an announce tandem. NXT rookie Michael Tarver joined them for the 2nd half of the show.

Once again, Rudy Parker bled hardway during his match with Conrad Tanner. This time the bleeding, which seemed to possibly be severe, was from his mouth.

During the tag match involving Saxton/Ryan vs. Reks/Curtis, the top rope snapped as Rex was Irish whipped into the ropes by Ryan. The look of horror on Reks’ face while feeling the support break away equaled the look of surprise on the faces of the FCW Universe. The foursome, in grand tradition, continued the match as good as they could, improvising what they had to.

Following Wes Brisco’s upset of Curt Hawkins, Jackson Andrews did a run-in attacking Brisco along with Hawkins. The FCW’s “other” giant, Eli Cottonwood, made the save, throwing Andrews out of the ring, then throwing Hawkins over the top right into Andrews.

The “Lights Out Bunkhouse Match” was a true old school style brawl a 50-50 mix of action in and out of the ring. The finish came when Hennig hit DiBiase in the face with his cowboy boot. The only thing missing form the old days Bunkhouse matches was, of course, blood.

NXT rookies Heath Slater & Darren Young, as well as Raw Diva Alicia Fox, were among those present at the show, but did not participate.

Roster talent absent from the show included AJ Lee, David Otunga, Donny Marlow, G-Rilla, Johnny Prime, Justin Gabriel, Naomi Night, Rosa Mendes, Skip Sheffield, & Wade Barrett. Caylen Croft, Trent Baretta, Savannah, Serena, & Alberto Banderas (Dos Caras Jr) are still in Europe with the main roster. Cable Jones, Kaval, & Richie Steamboat out injured.
