As we reported earlier tonight, WWE star Alberto Del Rio was released following what the company cited as “unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.”
We then noted an alleged backstage altercation took place between Del Rio and another WWE employee, said to be either a WWE.com reporter or an agent/producer, which is what lead to Del Rio’s WWE release.
Following Del Rio’s WWE release, F4WOnline.com is reporting both TNA and AAA in Mexico are interested in Del Rio.
Del Rio likely has a 90 day no compete clause in his WWE contract, which would apply to both TNA and AAA, as TNA is currently on TV and AAA recently landed a TV deal on the El Rey Network.
It should be noted that while details remain unclear as to what prompted the backstage incident between Del Rio and the WWE employee, Del Rio had publicly and privately stated in recent months that he didn’t intend to be in WWE much longer.
