Backstage Reaction to TNA’s Destination America TV Deal, Update On New Programming Ideas & Possible Impact Taping Dates

PWInsider.com is reporting the reaction to the TNA TV deal with Destination America is very positive, and TNA officials are extremely happy with the new deal.

It’s being said the new deal was agreed upon about a week ago and finalized this week. TNA is happy they have a television contract in place, meaning they can now work on signing talent to new deals, as well as flesh out creative plans and other changes.

One reason TNA was so happy with Destination America as a home is that the network is making TNA a cornerstone brand on their channel. Not only will Impact Wrestling air on the channel, but the deal leaves the option for more TNA programming in the future, which Dixie Carter made clear she didn’t just want a deal for Impact and nothing else. It was previously reported that Impact will get a first-run and replay airing on the channel, and could see more ‘unique specials’ or specialty programming, like a US run of British Boot Camp.

As far as the next television tapings go, TNA officials are working towards planning a December taping in the Midwest area. They previously placed a hold on the Manhattan Center in New York, but could release those dates in January and film sooner. TNA could tape the December shows, then film more episodes of Impact in January while they are on their annual tour of the United Kingdom.
