Tough Enough

This YouTube discussion on Chair Shot Reality has Justin LaBar and Josh Isenberg debating Tough Enough. The two differ in their feelings for the format of it being an hour with a mix of live and tape. Plus, predictions are made on who wins.

What’s Killing Pro Wrestling

CSR’s LaBar also has new column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Today’s takes a look at a problem he thinks is hurting the product of professional wrestling. Here’s a sample:

Too much space these days in professional wrestling is becoming a no-sell zone.

Selling is appropriately reacting in the ring when something happens to you. Selling is the most important aspect of professional wrestling. Period. End of conversation. It should be the end of conversation. But, sadly, it’s not.

I’m seeing more professional wrestling than ever with less and less selling.

I see a lot of this on Ring of Honor, which drives me nuts. ROH is frustrating to me because the spectrum is so wide. I see some of the most entertaining and the most aggravating in current professional wrestling — all in one hour.

There is such a steady, quick pace in some of the aggravating matches that the moves — while intelligently placed for match psychology purposes — show a huge lack of respect for the moves. Too many guys aren’t selling appropriately what the moves should mean but are trying to keep time with getting on to the next spot.

It’s not all Ring of Honor. I don’t want to pick on just them. It can be spotted everywhere. Some places more than others.

I almost broke my television because of Machine Gun Kelly a few weeks ago. The rapper performed on RAW and then got into an altercation with Kevin Owens. Then Owens power-bombed him off the stage. Kelly should still be laying there. But that didn’t happen. It was 45 seconds later by the time they were done showing the replay, and he was up stumbling to the backstage like a prom kid past curfew.
