Another MMA Fighter Challenges CM Punk To A Future Fight, Says Punk ‘Got A Pass’ To Join UFC

cm-punk-3UFC fighter John “Doomsday” Howard recently spoke with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso in advance of tonight’s UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas.

During the interview, Howard commented on former WWE Superstar CM Punk joining UFC, and said Punk hasn’t paid his dues and only got a contract because of his name. Howard, who is in his second stint with UFC after a 2011 release due to consecutive losses, said he wants a chance to fight Punk so he [Punk] can prove he belongs in the promotion.

“Phil Brooks got a pass to the UFC because of his notoriety. Maybe he is a legit caliber UFC fighter, but I want to be the guy he fights to prove he belongs in the UFC. I’m smaller than him. He’s a middleweight and I’m a welterweight, but I’ll come up in weight. If he whips my butt, I’ll eat my words–but let’s see him prove it against me.”
