AJ Styles
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the finish to the AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho match on Smackdown, which Jericho won clean with a Codebreaker, was improvised.
The finish was supposed to come when Styles fell off the top rope due to Jericho tripping him up, but the ref ignored the fall because Jericho’s legs were under the ropes, and they are instructed to call the matches as a shoot. From there, Jericho pretty much transitioned right into the Codebreaker to end the match.
On a similar note, it appears that the “Redneck Rookie” nickname for AJ Styles is being phased out. Styles mentioned the moniker in an interview on the show, saying he was proud to be a redneck, but he’s no rookie.
March To Wrestlemania
The WWE live event in Toronto that will be broadcast on the WWE Network, WWE March To Wrestlemania, has added a Highlight Reel segment with Chris Jericho, and his guests will be The New Day.
