According to PWInsider.com, Alberto Del Rio was pulled once again from weekend WWE live events, and did not appear last night’s MSG event as advertised. Del Rio was scheduled to face Kalisto last night at MSG, but was replaced by Rusev.
This is the second weekend in a row that Del Rio has been pulled from live events, and he also missed this week’s WWE Smackdown tapings in Boston.
As noted, Del Rio has been dealing with lower back issues after taking a vertical suplex from Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble or a German suplex on the January 18th edition of Raw. While not confirmed, WWE could be giving Del Rio time off to heal up the nagging injury.
As of now, Del Rio is still scheduled to team with King Barrett, Rusev and Sheamus to face WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day in a 4-on-3 Handicap Match at WrestleMania 32.
