Sami Zayn Talks Art Of Storytelling In Wrestling, Performing In Maine For First Time, John Cena Makes It Back For RAW & Makes The Save

Sami Zayn

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn recently spoke with FOX 22 / ABC 7 Bangor’s Jon Alba while promoting this Saturday’s “WWE SummerSlam Heatwave” Tour event at the Cross Insurance Center. You can read some highlights below, as well as listen to the interview in the player embedded above.

Sami Zayn comments on performing in Maine for the first time:

“I’m looking forward to it in that regard, just to add a new state to my resume. You would think being from Montreal I would have come and wrestled in Maine before, but I never have.

New England historically has always had loud, very passionate fans. So that’s always a very exciting aspect about coming to perform there.”

Zayn comments on the art of storytelling:

“There is no exact science to this, because at the end of the day, even though in a sense it is a sport and it’s very athletic, highly taxing on your body physically and everything else, it’s also performance art and it is storytelling and everything else,” Zayn said. “And there’s no exact science to it. There really is. There’s no formula that you can up to that says ‘okay, if you do A, and B, and C, and D,’ you will be a guaranteed success in this industry. That doesn’t work.”

John Cena

After it was hinted at that he wouldn’t (then possibly could) appear due to being in Los Angeles for ESPYs rehearsals, John Cena made a surprise appearance on RAW tonight.
