As noted last night, Tommaso Ciampa was believed to have suffered a leg injury at last night’s NXT live event in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Ciampa left the match early after the referee threw up the ‘X’ sign, and the match featuring DIY against SAnitY was called off.
Wrestlezone’s Justin LaBar is currently sending updates from today’s NXT Takeover Chicago conference call with Triple H, who said Ciampa turned his ankle. He went on to say the match was stopped as a precaution, and Ciampa says he is good to go for Takeover, but it will still be the medical team that gets to make the final call.
Triple H called it an “interesting day”, and injuries are part of the business, but they are keeping a positive mindset for how this will turn out.
