Figure Friday: WWE Basic 72 Zack Ryder (Photos)

Welcome to Figure Friday! Today we take a look at the “Ultimate Broski” Zack Ryder from WWE Basic 72! I would say this is Zack Ryder’s best action figure in years as they did a tremendous job on it, its just unfortunate it’s not an Elite as many collectors wanted. I got mine from RingsideCollectibles.com, as can you! That being said, let’s take a look at him in the packaging first!

Looking at Ryder in the packaging you can see it has the SmackDown Live logo in the back, although he wore this at Wrestlemania. It’s usually to distinguish where they wore the attire the figure is based on, but I’m not sure if he ever wore that outfit again. You can see the large image of him and his name on the side, too. On the back it lists who else is in this set, which includes: Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Shinsuke Nakamura and Nia Jax.

Taking a look at Ryder out of the packaging you can see the amount of detail on this figure. It’s really nice for a Basic honestly and this new head scan looks just like him in my opinion. His best scan since his last Elite figure years ago, which is probably my favorite figure of him. You can see the detail on his attire, with Zack Ryder written on his tights on the rear as well as the Zack Ryder logos/catch phrases on his armbands, tights (front), his knee pads and even boots. The white and purple contrast is really nice and makes this figure pop in my opinion. If I had to find something to nitpick I’d have to say his figure may not be tan enough?

So do I recommend this figure? Woo Woo Woo You Know It! Sorry, I had to. If you miss out on this one a similar one is coming in an upcoming Battle Pack of the Hype Bros, which will feature Mojo’s very first figure. Hopefully Mattel gives us an Elite of this Wrestlemania moment with the entrance robe as well as IC title but I guess we’ll have to see what comes about. Maybe at San Diego Comic Con next month we’ll see a new, long overdue Elite of Ryder? Stay tuned!

Unfortunately there will not be a new episode of Figure 2 Photo on Monday as I will be traveling but the show will return with next week’s Figure Friday review!
