Report: Several Indie Stars & Current NJPW Champion Currently Being Targeted By WWE

WWE has been signing a ton of independent talent to contracts this year, and they’re not slowing down in 2019. The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) revealed some of the names that the company is currently after. They include Karen Q, Rachael Ellering and IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Yujiro Kushida are on WWE’s radar. Also reported was that new signing Jonah Rock will be starting in January alongside ACH and Trevor Lee.

Dave Meltzer says that Kushida is just one of the New Japan Pro-Wrestling talents that WWE is after, and his contract is up at the end of January. So, while he won’t be among the first signees next year, he may be in the wave afterwards if the sides can come to a deal. He’d be expected to join NXT if signed.
