Dustin Rhodes’ Wrestling Academy Premiering First Showcase Tonight On YouTube

Dustin Rhodes began working on building his Rhodes Wrestling Academy since 2020 and tonight his first class will have their debut in a special showcase on YouTube.

Rhodes first started taking applications back in September of last year before starting up classes in January. His class of 12 students continue that process tonight, they’ll show off their work inside the ring as fans from around the world can tune in, starting at 8 PM EST (7 PM CST).

“They have worked hard and still are very wet behind the ears, so be nice please. Proud of them all,” Dustin stated on Twitter.

The showcase will also have on-air commentary as well as The Horn’s Stew Myrick will be on the call, bringing you the action.

Dustin spoke with Dominic DeAngelo of WrestleZone back after the application process began and talked about how it has been on his agenda to start up The Rhodes Wrestling Academy.

“I’ve had a dream to have a wrestling school for quite some time. I kind of semi had one with my father, but I really wanted one because I think I owe that to the younger kids coming up,” he said as he mentioned earlier how he helps coach the women wrestlers backstage at AEW. “It is something that I want to pass on and that is my knowledge of the sport, my knowledge of the how and when to do certain things and the proper way to get there and I think there’s a lot of great schools out there, but now you have my school and I hope to do the very best I can, but I have my name on that and I’m not going to let this fail, you know what I mean? And if I fail, I fail it on my own.”
