Julia Hart On Wrestling With An Eyepatch: It Was So Hard, I Couldn’t See

Julia Hart says she didn’t like wrestling with an eyepatch, as it made it very hard to see.

Hart made her AEW in-ring debut in 2021, and she often wrestled on Dark and Dark Elevation. The following year, Hart competed while she was wearing an eyepatch for several months after Malakai Black spit black mist in her face.

During a Captain’s Corner virtual signing, Hart was asked about wrestling while she was wearing the eyepatch , and she stated that it was difficult to do so. Hart recalled her first match with it, when she faced Jade Cargill, and noted that she couldn’t see.

“That was definitely, probably my least favorite part,” Hart said. “It was so hard to see, it gave me a headache. It was itchy and sweaty. It was really hard to wrestle in. Any time I would run the ropes, I felt like I was stumbling. The first time I wrestled in it was that match with Jade. That was the first time I wrestled with the eyepatch, and I just couldn’t see. I think she literally kicked me in the face or something and I was like, ‘I don’t care. I can’t see. So whatever happen, happens.’ It was really hard to wrestle in that. It was so hard.”

Thankfully for Hart, her eyepatch days are behind her. She eventually joined the House of Black, and alongside the group, she continues to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with in AEW.
