Marti Belle: The Dollhouse Made A Big Mark On IMPACT Wrestling, I Still Get So Much Love From Fans

Marti Belle is fond of her time in The Dollhouse, but she’s eager to show IMPACT Wrestling fans how much she’s improved since then.

The Hex recently spoke with WrestleZone to promote their return to IMPACT Wrestling. The pair previously worked for the company in separate factions, with Marti Belle being one of the original three members of The Dollhouse with Jade (Mia Yim) and Taryn Terrell. Asked what kind of memories she has and about the reception the group still gets today, Marti said she still gets fans that come up to her and bring up the group.

“I always have felt a lot of love from people about that group. Most importantly, we made a pretty good career in that time that we were at IMPACT with that. We got to travel all over the US, we got to go to the UK as the Dollhouse. We got to do a lot of really cool things,” Marti explained. “I still have a lot of people that come up to me that are like, ‘That’s how I was introduced to you,’ because obviously, IMPACT put us on a bigger platform. People may have known us from the Indies, but maybe people in the UK, if you didn’t follow SHIMMER, maybe that’s the only way that you would have been able to see us. But I think being on IMPACT put us on such a big platform that I have people all the time come up to us.

“This drives me crazy — I love it, but it makes me feel so old, when people come up to me and they’re like, ‘I used to watch you when I was little,’ and I’m like, ‘That is offensive. Thank you. I’m not old,’ but it is crazy to look back on it,” Marti said. “It’s been a number of years, and to see people that are coming into the business or just fans in general, I still get so much love from fans because of the Dollhouse.”

Marti and Taryn got to work with each other more recently in NWA, but Marti says she’s really enjoying the work she’s doing with Allysin Kay now. She believes that if The Dollhouse made a big splash in IMPACT, The Hex can reach even bigger heights.

“Allysin and I have both been in a lot of tag teams throughout our careers. We have had so much fun and we have had such a great time working with them. But I feel like now we have really, really hit our stride because as Allysin mentioned, we have evolved as people and as performers,” Marti explained. “So, the person that you are getting [now] is not the same person that you saw six years ago having her first time ever on television. IMPACT was my first ever TV contract. It was the first time that I was ever really on television, and I was scared.

“There were a lot of moments where I didn’t know who I was, who I was trying to be, and now I’m like, ‘What’s up? This is who we are. This is who The Hex is.’ So, I think that the Dollhouse made a really big mark on IMPACT Wrestling, and I think The Hex is going to make it even bigger one,” she added. “See what I did there? Hex marks the spot.”
